It’s crazy to me how people think AOT is gonna have a happy ending

I think anyone who has read the manga will agree with me.

SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE MANGA:

From the beginning you see a cycle of abuse and trauma in the story, and it only gets more clear towards the end.

The ending isn’t happy, I see people say it’s a good ending, just a sad one. But it’s not, most characters are left to deal with intense trauma, and some don’t even survive.

The ending is so bleak it’s hard to find any comfort in it.

Eren and Zeke die, but not before killing half of humanity, destroying the world and causing the survivors immense trauma.

Armin is left broken and alone, with a world to rebuild, with the knowledge that the Earth will be destroyed in 100 years anyway due to the absence of the titans.

Mikasa (who has been a stone cold killing machine with a dead inside stare for the last 2 arcs, unable to feel any emotions due to her trauma) is left alone as well, with no comfort or peace.

Levi is left broken and crippled.

Hange is heartbroken.

Sasha, Erwin, Hange, Bertolt, Annie, Falco, Gabi, Porco, Ymir, Floch. And many more. All dead.

It’s a really bleak ending.

So yeah, I don’t really get the people who say the ending is ‘good’, it’s a very bleak ending in my opinion.

The world is left in shambles, the characters are all broken, many died.

There isn’t really something to be happy about in my opinion.
