NY Republican Rep. Chris Jacobs will not seek reelection after coming out in support for an assault weapons ban

Rep. Chris Jacobs (R-NY) of New York said on Friday that he will not run for re-election following backlash from within his party for voicing support for new gun control laws.<br><br> Jacobs said at a press conference: 'I will not be seeking re-election for this seat. My pollsters have told me it would be a very difficult climb. I think it's the right decision for my constituents, my family and me.'<br><br>"There is a lot of anger, a lot of unforgiving," added Jacobs.
