Can consciousness really exist without a body?

I have a hard time imagining how consciousness could exist without a body. Even if you take the mind-body dualism view, the mind is still dependent on having a body, but what if you took that away? Like what would really be stopping consciousness from just ceasing to exist if you took away the body/mind? I have trouble envisioning where the consciousness would even exist in that scenario, like where would it be located in space?
