My birthday was ruined by the woman I love

Today was my birthday, I am grateful to be alive and am generally an optimistic and happy person. I am almost 35 with a loving GF. I loved her and she loves me, I will spare you the details but you get the picture. She is smart and mature and generally kind half Filipino and half White British.<br><br>So for my birthday she said she was busy so I said that I was ok spending the day alone playing with my guitar and video games. So I chilled at home. There was no mention of gifts, and I was not expecting anything. We had been to the local Farmer's market the day before and she bought me a nice cheese to eat, so I took that as a birthday gift.<br><br>However, I noticed that tonight she had the day off. Now I am not one to complain, but what really made me angry was that she had all the lights off and was spending the evening dining on a takeaway with Candles on out balcony. I asked her who all the food was for. And she said that it was for her and her friends who were coming over. I said but its my birthday?<. So her friends came over and they all ate on the balcony.<br><br>I sat by myself and watched them drink and laugh. I was heartbroken. I love this woman, she is the best thing that ever happened to me in this life. I was not expecting anything from her at all. But what she did tonight was just mean and selfish.<br><br>Edit: Holy Fuck guys, I did not know this was going to blow up. I am a calm and patient man and can handle the situation. I am just going to wait until her friends leave then talk to her. I am calm so please be calm. I can handle this situation without any advice.<br><br>Edit: They just left, so I am going to talk to her, wish me luck.<br><br>Edit: I showed her this post, she did not get mad. Instead she apologised for her selfishness. She also agreed that what she did was shallow and mean. I accepted her apology and told her that I forgave her.
