LOOKING FOR OTHER WITCHES IN THE UK

My name is Sophie, and I’m 29 years old. I’m a witch, and I Am here to amplify the message of this chamber, I’d like to add that the UK is also in the midst of this nightmare. The current government is tearing our country and economy apart, those of us who are vulnerable the most, the sick, old, young, disabled. They’re trying to turn us against each other, spreading fear and hatred to uphold their evil agenda. I’m so heartbroken and angry, I’ve never felt so hopeless. Their rule has been nothing but ruthless, and power focused, not once have any of them put the people of this country first. We are in turmoil, as a nation we are heartbroken, we are getting more and more homeless, our cost of living is so high, and it’s impossible for many of us to make ends meet. They call us lazy, they call us scroungers, the disabled and sick amongst us are often labelled as nothing but scroungers too. The financial state of the country is deplorable, but when they’re living in their mansions, with their second homes, on six figure salaries, do they care? Nope. Our country and it’s people are dying. We are struggling, and we are fighting. The women of this country are suffering the most. If we weren’t suffering enough with the cost of living, and being paid less than men, we’ve just had another nail in the coffin. Our rights to our bodies are being taken away, it’s hard to describe the feeling of violation that comes with that, especially when it’s male politicians that are making the decisions, and they have no right to our bodies. Our healthcare is in crisis, nurses and midwives who are mostly women, barely have penny’s because they’re paid so poorly. And yet the government are giving themselves pay rises. I’m a student nurse at the minute, the constant thoughts of leaving, and emigrating to another country that actually values its people is so tempting, but I do not want to leave my country, I love it so much, and I don’t want to lose it to these evil people. But it’s killing me watching it be destroyed, and seeing the impact of their evil on the people. I’ve taken to the streets, my voice and my feet have protested, but no matter how many of us protest, and stand against them, the government refuse to listen. Their decisions are just as evil as their faces, they have no regard for people’s lives, or the lives of our animals. This may sound crazy, but I’m going to ask magic for help. I’ve never believed in magic as much as I do now, and I’m not crazy, I know that magic is real, and I feel it around me everyday. I’m going to cast, I’m going to spell, and I’m going to pray that this evil government are gone. I’m going to ask the universe to take their evil powers away from them, and I’m going to pray that they see what they’ve done and how they’ve hurt us all. I’m going to cast circles around them to prevent any further harm, and to protect the people from them. I will ask the spirits to guide them on a different path, one that will make them see sense. I’ll cast spells of love and kindness, and ask the universe to bring harmony and peace to our country. I’ll call upon our ancient ancestors, who fought for our rights, and freedoms, and succeeded. I’ll ask Mother Earth to heal us, and nurture us back to full health. I’ll call upon the fairies, and the trees. I will cast spells of protection, to protect our planet, and to protect our people. If you are a witch in the UK, join me. Let’s stand together, let’s stand proud. We will not be silenced, we will not be beaten. If you have a voice, use it. I’ll not let this government turn me into a nasty, evil, heartless person, and neither should you. Keep being kind, keep spreading love, and most importantly, spread hope. We are strong, and we are powerful.
