Republicans have lost the Senate. It's time to face reality.

The three seats to overshadow the presidential election results are the Senate seats in Arizona, Maine, and Georgia. Republican Martha McSally lost the Arizona seat. Republican Susan Collins won her seat in Maine, bringing the Senate balance to 49 Democrats to 50 Republicans. Republican David Perdue is ahead in the polls by a 2% margin, but because that is less than 50% of the vote, he will have to compete in a January runoff election.

The runoff election in Georgia will be for two Republican-held Senate seats. If Democrats win both of those seats, Democrats will hold 51 seats. If Republicans win both, the seat balance will remain 50 Republicans to 49 Democrats and one independent. If either party wins one seat and loses the other, the Senate will be 50 Democrats to 50 Republicans.

Kamala Harris is the Democratic vice president-elect. As vice president, she will serve as the president of the Senate. Since she is a Democrat, Democrats will hold the majority of the Senate regardless of the outcome of the runoff elections in Georgia. Democrats control the Senate.

Because Joe Biden will be president and Democrats will hold the House and the Senate, Democrats will be able to pass legislation without Republican involvement. It won't matter who wins the runoff elections in Georgia. It also won't matter that Republican Susan Collins won her seat in Maine. The Republican party has lost control of the Senate. It's time to face reality.

-Dan Wesson

P.S. We knew this was a possibility, so we also knew what we would do if it happened. We will continue to fight for gun rights in Ohio. We have already met with Republican leadership. They are angry and motivated to fight for gun rights. We have a plan. It involves a lot of work by a lot of people. So let's get to work.
