Apple to let users switch off end-to-end encryption on iCloud backups

Apple is to offer some users the ability to switch off end-to-end encryption on iCloud backups to comply with laws in jurisdictions such as the UK and Australia. <br><br>The iPhone-maker currently encrypts iCloud backups in such a way that it cannot access the data itself. <br><br>Apple has come under pressure from governments to change that, so that law enforcement can access what they need with a warrant. <br><br>The changes will apply to users in the US, Germany, Australia, Canada, and the UK.
