The modern version of feminism is a gift to men.

Men face a long list of problems that women do not (see below) and the modern feminist movement doesn’t address any of them. In reality, modern feminism is the opposite of a gift and modern feminists are not acting in the best interests of men. So I will describe an alternate universe that is better for men and much like our universe in some ways, but much different in others. In this universe, the feminist movement over the centuries gave men and boys many gifts. Here is a list of some of the problems modern feminism ignores: * Male suicide: The suicide rate for males is roughly 4 times that for females. (U.S., ages 15-24) * Injuries at work: Men die at work at more than 10 times the rate for women. (U.S.) * Life expectancy: Women live more than 5 years longer than men on average. (U.S.) * Homicide: Men are more than twice as likely to be victims of homicide than women. (U.S.) * Homelessness: Men are roughly five times more likely to be homeless than women. (U.S.) * Incarceration: Men are roughly 15 times more likely to be incarcerated than women. (U.S.) * Child custody loss: Women won sole custody of their children in nearly 80% of child custody cases. (U.S.) * Draft registration: Men are required to register with the Selective Service System, in case a military draft is reinstated. Women are not. (U.S.) * Education: In the U.S., women graduate from college at a rate more than 50% higher than men. Women also now receive the majority of college degrees. * Divorce: When marriages end in divorce, women are much more likely to initiate divorce than men. * Infection fatality rate for COVID: Men are roughly 2.5 times more likely to die from COVID than women. (U.S.) Now for the list of gifts that feminist movements in an alternate universe have given men and boys: * Improved physical and mental health: Men in this universe have solved many of the problems in the above list. For example, their suicide rate is the same as for women, and they live roughly as long as women. They are much less likely to be injured at work and are much less likely to be murdered. * No draft registration: Men are no longer required to register with the selective service in case a military draft is reinstated. A draft, if reinstated, would be sex neutral. * Fewer men dropping out of high school and college: Feminists in this universe have worked to create a more inclusive school environment for boys. Boys are more likely to graduate high school and college in this world. In fact, roughly 55% of college degrees are now awarded to men. * Abolition of alimony: Feminists in this universe have always fought for equality, including financial equality. If a couple separates, each has to fend for themselves. This has been the case for more than a century. * Acceptance of paternity testing: Feminists have always recognized the right to know who one’s children are. This has meant widespread acceptance of paternity testing, which has been widely available for more than a century. * 50/50 child custody: Feminists have worked to strengthen the father/child bond and to make shared parenting the standard. If a couple separates, each parent has 50% custody of the children. * Less incarceration: Feminists have worked to create a more just society for both men and women. Women recognize that some behaviors deemed criminal are not actually immoral and that there may be reasons why men are more likely to commit crimes. Feminists have worked on a number of fronts to make the criminal justice system more just and less sexist. * Improved relationships leading to fewer divorces: Feminists have worked to strengthen marriages and relationships between men and women. Divorce rates are low, and when marriages end in divorce, women initiate divorce at a rate less than or equal to that for men. These are many of the gifts to men and boys that feminism has given in this alternate universe.

The modern version of feminism is a gift to men.
