Using ChatGPT to learn to write in another language

I've been playing around with ChatGPT a lot lately because I am trying to learn to write in French as much as possible. I've been using it for the following:

1. I write a sentence I would like to say. I then ask ChatGPT to change it so it is more correct. It always makes changes as ChatGPT is perfect and I am not. I don't know if I sometimes write correctly and it makes things worse.

2. I'll write a paragraph and ask it to make it more correct.

3. I'll write an entire conversation that I would have with my spouse like this:
Me: What should I make for dinner?
Spouse: Look at the chicken. It is very close to going bad. Can you cook it?

Then I'll ask it to polish it. It always makes changes, but I use it and read it over. I then go through and try to make it the same as it's corrections. Sometimes I find out that the corrections aren't correct.

Example with the conversation. I'll have a sentence like, "Can you make a salad?" And it will correct it to, "Can you prepare a salad?" Which is wrong. You don't "prepare" a salad.

So I think it is very useful, but it is also very flawed.
