How much does a 2 person household spend on groceries monthly?

I don't really like answering these types of questions. But I've always found the answers very helpful. I'm sorry. My SO and I have been sharing a small studio for a few months. I took care of most of our food budget before: but didn't really track. I did the shopping. The biggest change for us is the location of our new place. We live by a grocery store. Maybe a block away, but we're both now paying 50/50. I've kept the shopping task as I enjoy cooking. The real change for me was the fridge situation. We upgraded from the micro fridge to like a full size one. This has been the biggest challenge for me. We eat mostly lean meat, veggies, some carbs: but we've both gone on a fitness journey. We've had some time to settle into the new place: but that's what sparked this curiosity. I don't think we've changed our consumption: because we were on a fitness journey. We mainly cook at home.<br><br>So I've been keeping track of our spending for the past 2 months. It averages about 800 a month for the 2 of us. Thats accurate to a T. There are some months that cost more if we get wine because I'm out of town. But I'd say it's 50/50 for us. We get meat from a butcher. Eggs are from Costco. Milk is from Costco. And I make some things fresh. Roasted garlic hummus is an absolute fave. We also make our own salsa. I do start with pre made tortillas, but we get those from Costco as well. We have some favourite sauces. So we do sometimes grab other spices for those. We do get some pre made things like guacamole. But we don't get pre made meals. So we do get the easy peasy things. But we mostly cook everything fresh. We both work a lot: so some nights are harder than others. But it's all homemade. We've jumped around: but I think we've found enough staples to keep pretty consistent. It may change if we go away in the winter.
