If we provide universal healthcare, who will pay for it? God will provide.

If we raise minimum wage who will pay for it? God will provide.

If we do universal child-bearing what will happen to the tax payers? God will provide.

But what will happen when climate change hits? We can't do anything, God will help us.

This thinking is getting old, and the "God will provide" sentence just seems like an easy way out from humanity's responsibility to help itself.

I want to see some hard working individuals who can "provide for themselves" without the help of a magic being in the sky.

Edit: I'm Egyptian and I'm an atheist, and I've been to the United States, and I've seen extreme poverty, homelessness, starving kids, and people who can't go to the hospital because their insurance won't cover it. I've seen the homeless turn to drugs, I've seen how 2 children had to live with their grandmother because their dad's insurance didn't cover his brain disease treatment, I've seen how their dad died, I've seen how the kids were taken to an adoption center, and how they suffered and their lives turned upside down just because "healthcare is too expensive" in the US. And I'm not seeing any help from your magical sky daddy, I only see humans who are trying to make a change but can't because some privileged uneducated individuals think that some magic being will come and save them, and it's just disgusting.

Edit: 1 - I'm not an atheist because I'm angry at God or because I lead a bad life. I was born in Egypt and I was forced to believe that this sky Being called God could help me, provide me with food and a shelter, and could open the gates of heaven for me in the afterlife.

2 - I read the Quran and the Bible, I went to church, I went to a mosque, nothing helped, I felt my life getting worse. I thought that life was all about meeting these strange rituals that the sky Daddy wanted, and it was nothing like that.

3 - I'm an atheist because I encountered science, it helped me, it gave me a better view of life, of how our world is and how we should act. I read Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, etc, etc, etc, etc. And I'm not mad at "God", I don't know what that is, and I personally don't think that the sky Daddy exists, I didn't encounter it, I only encountered my fellow human beings.

4 - I'm not angry at you guys because you have a different religion, everyone is different, and I can't force someone to believe in what I believe in, however, I can't tolerate people who think that religion is a valid source of information, it's not Science is the valid source.
