Don't even get me started on parents who are like "I'm fine with my kids moving out when they turn 18!"

Oh really?? Then why the fuck do you guilt trip them about still needing to be at home with you, saying stuff like "your grandma was heartbroken when your aunt [female relative] moved out when she was 18."

Then there are parents who say "it's my house, do what I say until you move out" and give a deadline, only to move that deadline up and say "actually you're grounded for life" and start making more and more rules as time goes on.

I know a guy who is going into his 30s and still lives with his mom, because she guilt tripped him. He had plans to move out and she said stuff like "I always assumed [you/your sister] was going to live here and make [X career] a side hustle."

He says he wants to move out, but his mom is like "how will you do that? You don't make enough money" When he was making more money she was like "okay but the job you have now is so unstable, what if you get laid off?"

Then she acts like she has no control over the situation.
