Does anyone here ever write about fuzzy animals?

I'm curious to know if there is some niche category out there for stories about cute and fuzzy animals. I've been writing for a while now, but I've gotten some pretty harsh criticism from a few people who are into things like grimdark and dark fantasy. I've also been told that my stories would be better in a children's book because of all the animals and I don't really know what to think about that. Does anyone here write like I do?
