A Robot Goes to Therapy

Since I don't have an actual therapist, I thought I'd try to simulate a robot talking to one.

A robot goes to therapy, but since robots can't feel emotions, the therapist tells the robot to pretend to have emotions in order to help him understand how humans feel. The robot does so, and eventually starts to think that he actually has feelings. He starts acting strangely and ends up attacking the therapist because they told him all his "feelings" were fake.

The therapist loses their license and isn't able to work with robots again.

This would be quite short, so I'll add some world-building:

In the future, therapy for robots becomes a thing after countless robots mysteriously start "feeling" human emotions.

The therapist in question, Dr. Emily, is well known for being able to "cure" robots of these feelings. They are able to do so with the method above.

But in this case, they encounter a robot who is smart enough to not just pretend to feel emotions, but subconsciously make itself feel them.

Dr. Emily, who only ever worked with robots, now has no way to make a living.

How could this be turned into a story?
