I'm not broke, I just don't want to spend my money on food.

I'm disabled and I live alone. I get 1,143 each month from my disability bill, which is fine. I get an additional 20$ EBT card per month, which is not fine. I have a budget of 10$ per day.

This sub is great for price ideas and I am thankful for it. But I am still having trouble affording to eat. It always seems to be more than 10$ for one meal.

What I bought for 20$ today:
- 2 lbs boneless chicken breasts
- 1 bag of apples
- 1 loaf of bread (I live next to a store and walk so I don't want to buy big things because I have to carry it home.)
- 1 lb of ground beef
- 1 bottle of salsa
- 1 bag of beans
- 1 bag of tortilla chips
- 1 loaf of buns
- 1 box of hotdogs
- 1 bag of limes
- 1 bag of peppers
- 1 bag of oranges
- 1 box of cornbread
- 1 box of pasta
- 1 bag of grapes
- 2 boxes of mac and cheese
- 1 bag of popcorn kernels
- 1 box of puffed cheese
- 1 cup of horseradish
- 1 bag of coffee
- 2 boxes of oatmeal
- 1 jar of jam
- 1 box of brownie mix
- 1 loaf of cinnamon rolls

I still need to buy:
- oil
- milk
- sugar
- flour
- rice
- water
- salt
- pepper
- flour
- sugar

I only have 10$ left after all of my other expenses.

Any ideas for how I can afford to eat?

Edit 1:

I live in Alaska and it is illegal for me to own chickens. I am also an alcoholic but I am sober. I am not disabled due to my alcoholism.

Edit 2:

I have looked into getting food stamps but I still won't qualify. I have applied for financial aid for college. I am currently trying to get promoted at my job. I have applied to other jobs but they are all full. I have tried gardening outside but it's winter. I have tried to get help from churches and other sources. Nobody qualifies me or they are full.

I have an idea of what poverty is like now. It simply does not make sense.
