The real purpose behind the migration of Hindus from India

Indian Hindus have a migration problem. For many Indians, the preferred destination for settlement is the United States of America or the United Kingdom. Sometimes the phenomenon is referred to as a “brain drain.” Unfortunately, this does not fully capture the reality of the situation.

Since the early 2000s, the population of Hindus in the United States has consistently increased. According to the US Census Bureau, the population of Hindus in the United States exceeded one million. Yet the number of Hindus leaving India per year to settle in the United States far exceeds the natural growth rate of the US Hindu population.

Who are these people? They are primarily Hindus who have emigrated to the United States and other western countries. They speak English, they know the customs and practices of the host country, and they have the education to make such a move.

Emigrants from India willingly abandon their country of birth and settle elsewhere with the intention of never returning. This is not a recent phenomenon. India has experienced a mind-boggling “brain drain” since it gained independence in 1947.

Why are there so many Indian Hindus emigrating from their motherland? There are several reasons for this mass exodus.

The first is economics. India is a very poor country, and there is a desire to seek better economic prospects. This is the primary reason for the mass departure of Hindus from India. The lack of job opportunities at home leads to large numbers of Indians emigrating to other countries.

The other reason for this migration is education. Indians travel to other countries to pursue higher education. Some eventually settle in their host countries and never intend to return to their homeland.

Hindus are also leaving India due to a lack of trust in the government. The current government has been criticized for not doing enough to protect the rights of Hindus. Hindus feel that their government is failing to safeguard their rights and freedoms, leading to a loss of confidence.

The fourth and final reason for the migration of Hindus is the growing influence of Islam in India. India is essentially becoming an Islamicized country, with a growing Muslim population. This poses a threat to the Hindu way of life, leading to a mass exodus of Hindus from India.
