I decided to come clean about the situation. I have never got caught before and I buy most of my items on retailmenot discount cards. I am not proud and I don’t condone shoplifting. I’ve been hooked on high end clothing and jewelry. So it goes like this. Last November 19th 2021 I stole a $2500 bag. And a pair of $300 shoes from the mall and got away. Almost 2 months later I did the same thing again and got away. I got cocky and people were buying my items. So on 4/23 I stole a $3500 bag and a $500 watch that I sold in 2 days. Then I hit the same spot again in about 4 days and stole $5000 worth of stuff. So they caught up with me at my job on 5/4. I had a warrant and they booked me and took me in. Charged me with felony shoplifting. I got bonded out and owned up to it. I was just stressed with my mom health issues (she’s sick) and I got caught up in this and fell into the ditch and couldn’t get out. I accepted the charges and did 90 days in jail. I never got caught before and I understand that I fucked up. Now I got to pay a big ass fine and am on probation for a year and I also had to take a shoplifting class that was basically useless. I was done and the judge let me do my time in county jail (local jail). I had to take a shoplifting class that cost $650. I got released on 9/11. I am done and I understand that it was stupid. I damaged property and stole from them. So am I an addict? I’ve been clean for 120 something days. I’m not saying this to be a snitch or anything like that but I want to discourage people from doing this. I am not bragging about it and I am actually embarrassed. It’s not worth it trust me. The stress and the legal bills are not worth it. It’s not worth the risk of getting locked up and missing out on life.
