How do i keep my reader from knowing what's going on?

I'm right now writing a My Hero Academia story, and i have an issue of how to do something. <br><br>In the chapter i'm writing right now, i need my main character to not know of what's going on. That is, he's in a situation where he will die very soon if he doesn't do something. The problem is that i have to give my readers information that my main character does not have. <br><br>My question is how do i do it in such a way that my reader knows what's going on, while my character doesn't. I don't want my reader to be confused, but if my main character finds out what's going on, he could potentially escape his situation. So, is there a way to keep my readers know what's going on, while keeping my character in the dark?
