My husband and I had our ultrasound yesterday and couldn't picture living with children.

I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant. My husband and I were given a few options when we first found out; terminate the pregnancy, give the baby up for adoption, or raise the child.

My husband and I both were on the same page that we wanted to either adopt or abort, but not keep the child. We were both told by our friends and family to at least WAIT until we hear the baby's heart beat or see the baby, we would change our minds. A couple even said the cuteness of the baby would change our minds.

Well, yesterday we had our first ultrasound and heard the baby's heartbeat and saw the baby. We were still both on the same page that we didn't want to raise a child. We can't picture living with kids.

I'm 9 weeks and we've finally made our decision. We're going to give the baby up for adoption. We've both agreed to make an open adoption so we can see the baby on special occasions.

I've been reading about adoptions, and it seems like you're still able to be in the child's life without raising them, and I think this is what my husband and I are going to do.

We have a couple friends that have had successful adoptions and are able to see their children on holidays, birthdays, and have dinner sometimes. I think this will be a great way for us to live our lives how we want and see our child grow up.
