Israel is not a democracy

I have to summarize my thoughts about the situation in Israel.. Every day many of us are bombarded with news from the media that make us question whether we should continue to support Israel.. <br><br>No, Israel is not a democracy. The people of Israel have never had democracy, nor have they demanded one.. Israel is a Jewish state and its laws are according to Halacha, the Jewish law. <br><br>The purpose of elections is not to elect a government, but to elect a board of directors for the Jewish state, which will continue to uphold the laws of the Torah, which are the laws of the Jewish people.<br><br>Israel is not a democracy and it has never been one. The State of Israel is a Jewish state for the Jewish people, and it is their right to live as Jews in their own country according to their own laws...<br><br>It's not the people's right to decide whether to observe Shabbat or not, whether the marriage and divorce laws are according to Jewish law or not, or whether the Temple should be built or not in Jerusalem. <br><br>The Bible is the constitution of Israel. Our constitution is the Bible. And according to the Jewish constitution, the people of Israel do not have the right to decide certain things because they are the decrees of God, Who is the president and the King of Israel. According to the constitution, the purpose of the leaders of Israel is to enforce the decrees of God.<br><br>And according to the Bible, the choice of the Israeli leadership is not in the hands of the people of Israel, but in the hands of God Who chooses their leaders, be they prophets, kings or judges.<br><br>The current government of Israel was elected by God, not the people. God chose the leaders of Israel and He chooses them in every generation according to His will, not according to the will of the people. <br><br>We should stop judging the leaders of Israel. God is the One Who chooses them and He knows what He's doing. And if someone does not like the way the country is being run, they can leave Israel and go to a democratic country like the United States or the European Union.
