My husband loved to listen to rants from "matrix-type" conspiracy guys on YouTube, until he realized they were all pushing this same weird law that just passed in Florida.

I don't understand enough about this "common law movement" to fully grasp it, but the general idea is that you shouldn't have to follow laws, or pay taxes, or have licenses for things. Or something. My husband would watch these videos all the time in the past, and he'd say they were interesting, but he'd also point out all the flaws in their arguments.

Then, this law in Florida just passed, and it seemed like all the youtube channels he was watching this past week all just happened to randomly bring it up. Not only mentioned it, but raved about it. This happened with too many channels for it to be a coincidence.

So, I looked it up.

Florida just passed a law that their citizens do not have to follow "unconstitutional" federal laws. See, if a federal law is deemed unconstitutional, the citizens of Florida do not have to follow it. Sounds empowering, but the problem here is that if a law is deemed unconstitutional, it cannot be enforced by law enforcement. There's no need for this law.

So, I read some comments on the articles about this law. One person had a good point, so I'm paraphrasing them. "Would the citizens of Florida follow this law if it was a Trump administration law?" They won't admit it, but they would. I'm sure of it.
