A friend is starting to bit by bit develop a catgirl character.

I got a phone call from her today. She has been a great friend for a few years, though in random matters has made confessions or stated things that are very catgirl adjacent. Up until now I have chalked it up to autism, or just being very into cats because she is allergic to them. A few weeks ago she confessed that she wanted to be a catgirl in her next life. She provided a lot of context like her hypersexulity is part of why, her love of cats, and her belief that she has a past life where she was a cat. She is very into past life and the like so I took it with a grain of salt.<br><br><br>She contacted me today asking for advice on her budget and a nerf war we are supposed to have. She started detailing some new things she may want to bring to the event, including cat ears. I asked if they were for a costume, to which she said it is for a character she has been creating. This got me very curious and I asked if it was a fursona. She hesitated a little and said that it was not. I asked again if it was a catgirl character, to which she gave similar hesitation. <br><br><br>I do not know what to do about this, or what the best course of action even is. I do not want to lose a really good friend, and I have always known her to be autistic. The transition may make her inauthentic to who she was before, but I am not sure if the fact that she is autistic should be a saving grace. Up until now I have enjoyed her company, but the thought of her developing a catgirl character makes me sick.
