Im the ex-CEO of a major gun manufacturer. I now think there should be more gun control on the sale of high capacity (high magazine amount) weapons.

I see a lot of misinformed people who think that high capacity is the same as automatic weapons. The company I worked in did also manufacture those weapons, but I'll specifically just focus on high capacity weapons for this thread.
I was against any form of gun control for a very long time. It wasn't until I had a wake up moment, when my niece was shot and injured in school, back in 2007. I've been advocating for more gun control ever since.
Now, I'm not saying that everyone shouldn't have guns, or that guns should be banned. But something needs to be implemented to reduce the amount of high capacity weapons being sold.
I've visited a lot of gun ranges in my life, and I don't really see any reasons as to why you would need guns capable of holding over 20 or 30 bullets. (The average capacity bullet clip is about 10-15). I've seen some clips hold as many as 60+ bullets.
I realise that banning all high capacity guns is unrealistic, but there needs to be some form of control, the sale of high capacity weapons needs to be heavily restricted.

The argument that high-capacity magazines are essential for self-defense fails to account for the risks of increased firepower. It is true that higher capacity magazines allow for extended firing, which could be perceived as advantageous in a self-defense scenario. However, this argument neglects the potential risks associated with increased firepower, including unintended targets, bystander casualties, and the potential for accidental harm to oneself or others during the use of a high-capacity weapon.
