Twitter is a great platform that fosters discussion and communication between people across the world. However, this platform is quickly falling apart. A single entity now owns the majority of twitter. A new "red flag" system is about to be put in place to prevent the spread of "fake news" on the platform. The platform is becoming the "echo chamber" that people often accused it of being before. The CEO has openly expressed his conservative views and admiration for trump, who was also recently unbanned.

People are now moving away from the platform in droves, either by choice or by being fired by the CEO. This will only serve to further reinforce the echo chamber as anyone seen as a "threat" is deplatformed or leaves by choice. It will become a place where echo chambers with no real opposition will thrive, further polarizing the US. If you think this isn't true, then change my view.

Edit: I've had a few people make their case for why twitter won't die when it appears that it's dying. I appreciate that, and respect your opinion.

However, most of you seem to be missing the point of the post. I'm predicting that twitter will become an echo chamber NOT that it will become useless and defunct. I would like you to change my view that twitter will become an echo chamber.

Edit 2: I would also like to clarify something that was previously unclear. When I wrote this post, I took a very liberal definition of "dead". This doesn't mean that twitter won't be useful anymore, but rather that it's usage will either cease, or it will become a echo chamber with very little real discussion happening on the platform.
