Childfree by choice. And I'd like to be childfree by consent.

I'm a few days late with this post, but I'm still amazed.

A couple of days ago, the United States overturned the rights to abortion. Although I've never been in a position where I had to get an abortion, I am childfree by choice, and now, I'd like to be childfree by consent.

Never, in my most twisted nightmares, would I have imagined the United States, a country that claims to be the greatest nation in the world, would take away the right to consent to reproducing. A country that claims to be about freedom, just took away one of the most basic freedoms a human has, the right to consent to their own reproduction, and with that, the right to consent to raising a child. With that, they are forcing people to reproduce AGAINST THEIR WILL.

In the same country, you can't force somebody to donate an organ or a part of their body, even if it would save a life, because of the right to consent. But when it comes to reproduction, a far more invasive and life-altering thing, that basic right is denied.

That's fucked up, and the USA should be ashamed of itself.
