YouTube (and the Internet as a whole) was much better when people were creating content as a hobby instead of a "job"

Everyone memorized the old Jungle Book song "I want to be like you" when a certain "content creator" used it in their trailer, but the actual lyrics go like this:
"I want to be like you / I want to walk like you / Talk like you too"

The thing is that the "content creators" are overrunning us hobbyists to the point where it's outright impossible to watch a video or read some content that was produced by an actual hobbyist. I'm not going to list examples, you all know who those people are. And I know that being a content creator can be regarded as a hobby too, but for most it isn't. And that's a problem. They do it for the money and their only goal is to get views, because of that they are often changing their content over time to be more popular.

I mean, where are you going to watch a video about, for example, some guy making a stone path in his garden for hours and hours? You can't find that kind of stuff on actual TV, and rarely on YouTube. On YouTube it's all about clickbait, pretending to be something they aren't, and creating scandals to get more views.

Or what about all the new "influencer" instagram accounts? You know, those where they steal some pictures from the chambers, steal some basic R code, or even do an online course just to generate "content". They couldn't be less interested in what they're doing, they just want to generate followers, grow their social media presence, and then ask for money to advertise some unrelated stuff on their page.

It goes to the point where almost every single piece of online content is created by someone who only now started doing it because they want to make money out of it. It's all so damn cringy, because in the end they have no clue what they're doing.
