If you want my number, you better be ready to put my needs first

I was out with a friend at a coffee shop and a woman complimented me on my hair. I told her it was nice of her to say that and she gave me a business card and wrote her number on it. She was cute so I decided to text her and we made plans to meet for dinner.

When I got to the restaurant, I ordered and waited for her. She came about 15 minutes late and told me she had to get her hair done and left her curlers in for too long. That’s fine. Stuff happens. Then she sat down and said, “you can order for me.” No thank you, please, or anything. She just told me to order for her. So I asked her how she was doing and she said she was having a bad day. I asked her if she wanted to talk about it but she said “no, just order.”

So I ordered for her and then she just started talking about what she likes to eat and what she doesn’t like to eat. She went on and on about how much she hated mushrooms but she eats them sometimes if they’re in the dish. She then went on and on about how she was a meat eater but doesn’t eat chicken or beef. She eats fish sometimes but only salmon. As she was talking, I started to get annoyed. I didn’t care about her eating habits at all and she was talking over me every time I tried to get a word in. I tried to ask her who she liked in the Super Bowl and she just kept talking about her food habits. After about 10 minutes, she finished her rant about food and asked me what kind of car I drive. I told her it was a Kia and she laughed and said, “that’s cute.”

So I asked her what kind of car she drives. She goes on about how she drives a BMW and how she’s lucky that a guy she met at the gym is paying for her car. She was just rambling on and on about how her friend is just so nice to her. She also went off on a tangent about how he’s cheating on his wife with her but she doesn’t care. She was laughing and saying that she will marry a rich guy and then divorce him for everything he owns.

So I politely listened to her ramble on about how awesome she is for an hour. When the bill came, I reached for it but she just took it and said, “don’t worry about it, I can handle it.” I thanked her and offered to walk her to her car. She said no. Then she said, “can you take me home?” I’m like, “uh no, this is the first time we met. I don’t think that’s a good idea.” She then got angry with me and said, “fine, I’ll take an Uber.” Then she just walked away and left.

I was really shocked at how narcissistic and self-centered she was. She didn’t even ask about my day or how my job is going. She didn’t even ask what I liked to eat. I don’t care if a woman has a bad day but if you want to go on a date with me, you need to be ready to put my needs first. The way she acted was borderline psychopathic. She was completely unaware that I was even there and didn’t care about me at all. I’m really glad she left and I’m glad I dodged that bullet.
