I(19F) got outed as a sex worker by my(19M) boyfriend, now he wants me to quit and I don’t want to. How can I make him feel comfortable with it?#####I(19M) met my bf(19M) on Instagram last year when I posted a photo of me in my nurse uniform (I work as a medical assistant). He messaged and we instantly got on, he started off by saying how attractive I was and then we moved on to other topics and we found out we share the same political views, almost everything about us matches up perfect. We dated for a few months and everything was great. I am more extroverted than him and we’ve never really been to any events or parties together so I wanted to find a way to get him to come with me. I thought I’d bring it up gently; I told him (while lying on my back) “hey, why don’t we go to the club this weekend? You’ll have fun”. He said he wasn’t interested and that he was overwhelmed with too many people. So I said, “But I’ll be there with you the whole time. Would you rather go to a smaller event? Maybe like a house party?” He agreed and I decided to throw one at my place.

On the night of the “party” I invited 4 other friends (2 girls, 2 boys). I was drinking and drinking really fast and acting really dumb. I started eating a McDonalds burger with ketchup and attempted to suck ketchup off my fingers in front of my friends. It was a weird night in-total. The next day my boyfriend approached me and asked if I could stop acting so weird. I thought it was funny when he said that I am “too attractive and hot” to be acting dumb and goofy. I asked him what he meant and he said girls like me shouldn’t be acting so dumb because it’s unattractive. I didn’t say anything back, but I really didn’t like what he was saying. From that point on I noticed he was being a bigger control freak than before. He started telling me what to wear, how my hair should look and he told me to wear less makeup. Nothing came of any of this, but it got annoying.

I’ve been a sex worker for a year and a half now and everything was going really well. I never had any bad experiences. I was getting booked left and right and I was really happy with it. During one of my dates, the guy that booked me for the night looked into my eyes as we were fucking and asked why I looked familiar. I told him he must be following me on Instagram (I didn’t want to say I was a sex worker, that’s pretty rude) and he said “ohhh yea that’s it!!! I also work with you!!! I’m [insert name here] we had a huge fight with each other because I got the last cart of formula and you were in a hurry” and then we both laughed.

Long story short, he took a video of me sucking his dick and now I’m banned from every sex worker platform. I received so many death threats and I am being doxxed. My bf saw the video and confronted me about it and I told him I work in sex work. He was offended that I lied to him and said that sex work is disrespectful and degrading. I told him it was my choice and I was very happy with it. He said he cannot be in a relationship with me if I work in sex work. I tried to ask him why he’s against sex work and he said it’s because he’s a Christian and he doesn’t believe in selling your body. I’m also Christian and I don’t believe in selling myself, I believe in selling my body. I want to make him feel comfortable enough to let me continue to work in sex work but he won’t budge. Should I abandon sex work to save my relationship?

TLDR I work in sex work and my boyfriend found out, now I’m in a sticky situation
