Bug killer with no smell or lingering smell

I'm not a big fan of bugs but I like to keep the house clean before I have spiders or ants or anything but I also don't like the strong chemicals in bug killers, I'm not a fan of the smell or the gas that lingers. What's a good bug killer with little to no lingering smell?
