Am I about to ruin my career? (Update)

Some backstory: <br><br>I go to a top-tier university. I was recruited to a big tech company with an internship. I’m sitting the summer out and I’m on campus working a research job. I’ll be going to Silicon Valley in September to start my full-time job. I’ll be graduated next summer. My company says they don’t care if I finish. <br><br>I think it would be fun. Is it a bad idea? <br><br>**UPDATE**<br><br>Holy wow! Thanks for the responses! <br><br>You guys have settled it for me. I’m going to come back. How could I miss out on this opportunity?
