Why do some people get pregnant with twins like ten times?

My wife gave birth to twins like four years ago, and this is the first time in my entire life that I have ever heard of anyone having twins. In the last four years, I have heard of at least six more pregnancies resulting in twins.<br><br>Is there something new going on with people's bodies? Did they recently discover medicine that makes people more likely to have twins?
