My parents are going on a Civil War tour and my dad wants me to want to be happy for him.

I said my parents told me about their Civil War tour, and my dad is so excited. I love my parents, but the issue is I am very anti-Confederacy. My dad is excited about the history, but he does not support slavery, nor does he think they should be glorified for fighting for it. The thing is that he knows Civil War stuff is racist. And he wants to go to a bunch of places around the country where Civil War history happened. He goes on and on about how cool it is. This is really happening. So he wants me to be happy for him. I absolutely cannot. <br><br>I understand that the Civil War is a big part of our history, but it is racist and it is a bunch of white people trying to insurrect and kill our country. This is a big deal because it's about a war for slavery, and now as a modern American, I can barely just get anything done without police trying to harass me because of my skin tone. The war was for the right to own people. It is disgusting, and I will not ever celebrate it or show interest. And my dad knows this, he knows why I hate the Civil War, and he is still asking me to be happy for him.
