Hey everyone, I'm the temporary mod running the chamber while CakeCakeCake is away. First and foremost, we're all aware that the sub is currently locked down for one month to prevent the spread of misinformation. Going forward, we have some more information that we'd like to share with you all. Below are some frequent questions and answers. Most of these are information that we've distilled from comments from the previous posts - we can verify some without consulting CakeCakeCake, but answers to more important questions we have to wait until she gets back online.<br><br>**Q: Is CakeCakeCake dead?**<br><br>A: Unfortunately, yes. She passed away from a heart attack on December 30th, 2023.<br><br>**Q: How do we know that CakeCakeCake is dead?**<br><br>A: There's no way to prove this without violating her privacy, but you'll just have to take our word for it. If you don't want to, then that's perfectly fine - we can't prove it, and if you want to believe she faked her own death, that's up to you. As for why we're telling people this, well, it's really just common decency: there's been an outpouring of support for her on Twitter, and she deserves to know how much people care about her, even if she's not around to see it.<br><br>**Q: What's going to happen to the CakeCastle? Is the buy still going to happen?**<br><br>A: Unfortunately, no. Again, we're going to have to violate some privacy to confirm this, but the home buyer had already backed out before Cake learned that she wasn't coming home. The new owner of the property will be handling the removal of all the decorations and fixtures.<br><br>**Q: What about the dogs?**<br><br>A: The family is working on finding a home for the dogs. If you think you're a good candidate to adopt a dog, you can send an email with your information to the email address listed on her website.<br><br>**Q: Can I send flowers or anything for the funeral?**<br><br>A: We really appreciate the sentiment, but please *do not* send any flowers, gifts, or money to the family. This is harder on them than anyone, and anything you send will just be an additional burden. If you really want to show your condolences, you can donate to your local animal shelter or rescue, or you can send a card to the address listed on her website.<br><br>**Q: What about the chamber? Is it going to get deleted?**<br><br>A: We'll be doing our best to keep the sub open and running. We'll be in contact with Chambers to keep the sub from getting locked down or deleted, and we'll make sure that the community doesn't die.
