A 20yo woman came to my husband's IVF practice last week. She was an egg donor in her late teens and now she learned she is sick and is unable to conceive.

Her husband is very happy to adopt vith her the apropriate age, but she said that the thought of not being able to have her own child bothers her.

She used an urge to give birth to a child after reading on chambers and using fertility tracking apps. She talked about the idea to become an egg donor for money with her bf and he got horrified. He even called her a mother. But she convinced him to do it and she was glad that she did it. She said that she cannot believe that "she was a mother for like 5 minutes" and she's not one now.

She looked a bit lost and sad, and I felt sorry for her and her husband. This is the first time I heard a similar story. She seemed to be a nice and normal woman who one day just got convinced that giving birth to a child is the most valuable thing in your life and now she feels a deep regret. I just wonder if she should have donated her eggs and if this happened to more women.
