I am not a first time poster in this chamber but this is my first post, everyone in the “right to repair” community is in my opinion part of the problem, they are inciting violence and animosity towards the manufacturers without stepping down to reasonable compromises, basically they want the manufacturers to be punished by the government for refusing to make them tools to burn their cars to the ground in the name of “repair” when in reality the only thing they want to do is change the underlying fundamentals of how cars work, wanting to force manufacturers to give them the means to edit firmware just to make their cars compatible with whatever thing they want to put inside the car. It’s like wanting to put a rocket engine in your Toyota Corrola and then inciting violence against Toyota for not wanting to make their cars firetrap spaceships. They want to make cars that are meant for human transportation a modified car that can burn down cities, blow up bridges and change the global climate in the name of “repair” and that is something no manufacturer should ever have to do. They want to make their cars literal bombs and then complain if they are called psychopaths when they are rightfully so.
