My principal screwed up...

So, I have a kid in class we’ll call Tommy. He is special needs. We are almost at the end of the first semester of the year but I have not received an IEP for this kid and his math performance has been very lack luster. I emailed my principal about this and it went unattended so I had to talk to him in person. He was super butthurt that I doubted his abilities as a principal. He got mad at me and said, “you know, I am the principal. I know best.” I was super angry about this. Should I report this immediately to the superintendent or should I let this simmer?

Edit: I would just like to say that I’m the bad guy here. I am not the victim. I apologize for how defensive I got in my comments. I should have used time to reflect on how I was the culprit. I am a student teacher and this is my second semester teaching. I should have simply sent an email to my principal and let it go. I’m just a kid that is trying to get a degree. I am not even remotely qualified to be teaching.
