Something is horribly wrong with the fact that I can eat food in my dreams.

I dreamt about a McDonald’s restaurant last night. I was in a crowded McDonald’s eating a meal inside and then I thought to myself “wait a minute…this is a dream, right? So I can eat as much as I want without paying…this is perfect.”

So I went up to the counter and ordered food, 20 burgers, 20 fries, 20 chicken nuggets, 30McFlurry’s, basically everything in sight I ordered and then I sat down to eat it, and then I woke up a few minutes later.

The thing is, I’ve done this countless amounts of times, including last night, but for some reason, every time I dream about eating food, I never actually taste it. It’s just this bland substance that I am putting in my mouth. Now I understand that sometimes people don’t exactly taste food in their dreams, or even sometimes it tastes like something completely different, but for me, it’s literally just this bland nothingness.

If I’m dreaming about eating a granola bar, it just tastes like a bland paste. If I dream about eating a sandwich, it just tastes like some bland goopy substance. If I dream about eating some McDonald’s fries, it just tastes like eating bland air. This has been the case for as long as I can remember.

So I asked my girlfriend about this, and she said that she does taste food in her dreams.

“Seriously, sometimes food tastes even better in my dreams than it does in real life.” She said.

I asked my co-workers about this and they all said that they taste food in their dreams. Every single person that I asked about this said that they could taste food in their dreams, and how delicious it was, and that it was much better than the real thing.

So that made me wonder, what’s wrong with me? Why is it that I can’t taste food in my dreams…or am I?
