Microsoft on Thursday said that it would stop supporting Windows 10 on Oct. 14, 2025, putting an end to the software that was first rolled out to the masses in 2015.<br><br>The company will no longer provide security updates or technical support, which will make it more vulnerable to hacking and the spread of malware.<br><br>The move is part of the tech company's efforts to shift focus to Windows 11, which the company released in 2021.<br><br>Microsoft changed its usual plans to release a new iteration of Windows every three years. It skipped over Windows 9 and went straight to Windows 10 after the release of Windows 8 in 2012.<br><br>It then skipped Windows 12 and Windows 13 and instead went to Windows 11, as the company opted to ditch the "10" branding.
