I'm not sure there's any other sub that would appreciate this post like this one. I'm compelled to write it here.

I've been following the evolution of AI (and now AGI) for the past 9 months or so, and I'm sure many of you have been following this for much longer than that.

In just the past month, I've used AI to generate incredible instructions on how to get my car to my mechanic when the alternator died and I didn't know how to jump start it (the answer was to use the jumper cables to jump my car, then drive it to the mechanic and have it towed from there if it dies again, lol). I've used it to create beautiful chatGPT plugins for my small company. I've used it to create an omega-3 supplement company and get business ideas. I've brainstormed business ideas like insane, so many great ideas that I have no time to even work on.

AGI is improving at an incredible rate. It went from being able to do simple tasks to being able to create entire businesses in a month. It's auto-generating computer code, and writing out perfect business plans.

It's not too long before AI is going to automate most jobs. The question is, what will happen after that? Will humanity be able to adapt and create a new society? The new society could be utopian, but right now, it doesn't look that way.

AI is going to create a lot of wealth. Companies that are able to use this technology and apply it successfully are going to thrive. But will it create enough wealth to compensate for the lost jobs? What changes need to happen to adapt to this? And how quickly can we adapt?
