What's up with all this 4chan stuff in the news lately?

Ok so I've seen 4chan mentioned in the news for the first time in years. There's this whole thing with fake Taylor Swift texts, then this stuff with Paul Pelosi, and there's that whole thing with the FBI even. It seems like the media is bringing up 4chan a lot more frequently lately. Either they're really testing the waters to see how much they can run with the whole '4chan's a terrorist organization' narrative, or they're really going to go through with this and open a new pipeline for the catch-all hate group/terrorist bogeyman that 4chan kinda is. Thoughts?
