I'm starting to realize that people are much more selfish than I thought

I'm a lonely and beta type person. I try to be polite, empathetic, etc to people who surround me, my family and I have a great relationship, I'm polite with my classmates, and with people in general.<br><br>However, I realize that I'm not creating strong or close ties with anyone, because everyone is busy with their own lives, and no one cares about me, even if people are friendly towards me they are not close.<br><br>This is making me feel very lonely because I am always trying to be this nice, caring and gentle person who tries to be friends with everyone, but I end up realizing that people are much more selfish than I thought. People are not interested in my life, and really care about their own situation and stuff.<br><br>So let's try to be happy alone, we don't need to try to be good with anyone else but ourselves, let's enjoy life as much as we can.
