I just got home! I’m tired, my feet are blistered so much I can hardly walk and I barely have enough energy to write this post, but I’m home.

I took the train from Atlanta, GA and took a bus from Washington D.C. to New York so today I walked 10+ miles. I walked through the city, down streets, down highways, walking on rocks and over patches of concrete, hills and roads. I walked through fields, forests, parks and neighborhoods. I walked through rain and shine, and at one point, it was hailing.

I encountered both good and bad people. Some were rude, some were nice. A man tried to flirt with me and when I turned him down, he called me a lesbian. A woman bought me food. Guys asked me for my number and guys asked me where I’m headed. Some honked their horns, some yelled at me out of their windows. Others handed me their umbrellas when it rained.

When I was in D.C. I walked for hours. I walked through the city, down Rock Creek Pkwy, and I walked by many monuments, including the Washington Monument, WW2 monument, the Vietnam Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial. I walked over the Potomac River and I felt as if I was walking on water.

Today I walked 19.65 miles and got to NJ! I’m almost home. I have about 20 miles left and I’m done!
