A net, some speed, and the absence of the kids gave me victory.

It's quite an odd creature though. Very strong antennae, slower and more deliberate than I thought. Relatively bulky and heavy I think; doesn't move much even when I turn the bug catcher around. I wonder how she ever got in here? I've had this house for 10 years and never seen such a thing.

So she's in a bucket now, just in case anyone has advice on how to get her to the great outdoors and wishes to communicate about it pronto. I know not much about bugs but have some good feelings about this one, so I'll see if I can do better than the average fly or spider.
