How do you make friends?

I've always struggled to form close relationships. The people I've met are either no longer a part of my life, or we don't talk much. I have always felt like this is my fault, that there's something fundamentally wrong with me, but I'm trying to be a little more compassionate with myself.<br><br>What if I'm not broken? What if I've just been unlucky so far? I don't know how to make friends as an adult. I don't know how to stop people from drifting out of my life. I don't know how to make a connection with someone else stick.<br><br>I need help. Does anyone know how to make friends?
