I'm the GH to my nephews (15&16 year old boys). My husband passed away when my daughter (13) was 5. My daughter's bio father has been out of the picture for her whole life. She has always been very close to her nephews. They're like brothers to her. We are a very family-oriented family. We've made a lot of memories over the years. I chose to stay in the same house I raised my son in so my kids could have a constant home to grow up in. My son has recently moved out. He has two young boys. The whole family is very close.

Flash back to 3 years ago: my son gets a tattoo. He was 19 and thought it was a good idea and I couldnt talk him out of it.

Flash back to 1 year ago: my 15 year old nephew gets a tattoo. I couldnt talk him out of it. His mom couldnt talk him out of it. We see a reputable person. Everyone goes home happy.

Flash back to 3 months ago: my 16 year old nephew gets a tattoo. I couldnt talk him out of it. We still see the same tattoo artist.

Flash back to last week: I come home from work and pick up my kids. We go to the tattoo parlor. They talk to us. I sign for her to get a tattoo. The tattoo artist does a great job. My daughter is happy. We go home. The next day, I go to work. My son calls me. He is upset that I let his little sister get a tattoo. When I get home, his mom is at my house. She is furious. They both think I messed up. I am now rethinking my decision, but as of now I still think it was the right one. I took care of my kids and they are happy. I can't imagine doing anything differently. AITA?

Edit: To my understanding, the artist is allowed to legally give minors tattoos with Parent consent in my state. I looked it up for the sake of the argument and it does seem legal where I am
