The time I saw a guy just walk through a manhole into the sewer like he was walking into a building.

This is something that happened to me over 20 years ago, but I just thought about it the other day and it's still what the hell to me. I used to do door to door sales, and so I was walking through this neighborhood I had never been in before. The majority of the houses I was going to were on all sides of the street with about 50-75 yards between them. So while walking I saw a manhole on the sidewalk and a man standing next to it. I'm about 20 yards away and I see him lift up the manhole cover, toss it to the side, and proceed to just walk right into the sewer. I was absolutely floored, and I'm still floored thinking about it today. I did not know if I should go check it out or just get out of there. I thought there's no way he could have been maintenance because it was Sunday afternoon and he didn't have a uniform or vest on him or equipment on him it was just a regular shirt and pants. And there's no way in hell he could have been homeless because it was literally a sewer there was poop and water running through it. I don't know I've just never seen anything like that before. Like I just watched a regular man just walk into the sewer.<br><br>Update! Wow did not expect this post to get this many upvotes, so thank you! I've been reading the comments and I've never heard of this movie before so I am going to check it out, it does sound very similar except for the poopy water part. Also, I never heard the story of the mole people before, so I am going to check that out too. I appreciate all the comments and suggestions. Thank you all!
