My brother and his girlfriend are communists and I don’t know how to cope with this

My brother (19) and his girlfriend (20) are communists. They’re not from some kind of underprivileged background or anything. They live in a good house, have good parents and have never had to go to bed hungry. <br><br>My brother is in university studying law and has a good job. His girlfriend is in uni studying history. <br><br>They don’t have jobs lined up after they’re done with uni but that’s okay. The point is, they live in a capitalist country in the first world and have had it good their entire lives. They definitely aren’t oppressed in any way. <br><br>And still, they think a communist system will be better. In the history of the world, has any communist system ever functioned in an acceptable manner? <br><br>I don’t know how to cope with this. My brother can’t be this blind to reality unless he’s been conned. I don’t know how he can be so stupid. <br><br>We live in a democratic constitutional monarchy with a multi party system. Everyone is pretty much happy with the government and for the most part, we have a pretty good system. <br><br>I don’t know what to do. My brother is smart in other ways, I don’t know how he’s so blind to this. I feel like he’s been involved in some sort of cultist ideology. <br><br>I’m getting closer and closer to snapping and just telling him I don’t want to be friends with him if he still thinks a communist system is good. <br><br>This is the future of this country. Is there any point at all in trying to make the future better if people like my brother are going to be running it? What the hell is up with young people liking communism? <br><br>I don’t know how to feel. I feel like there’s no hope for this country. If young people aren’t taught properly in school and think this is the best system then I feel like everything is lost. <br><br>I just can’t cope with this. I don’t know what to do.
