What nationality was the majority of the pirates during the golden age of piracy? (approx. 1650-1720)

From my own research it appears that the majority of pirates were British, but their crews were always multicultural, meaning there was no one nationality. The circumstances of piracy, where sailors constantly switched crews, also contributed to a lack of a specific nationality.
