Student cooking essentials?

I'm moving away from home for the first time next month to go to university and I'm worried that I'm going to forget something crucial when I go grocery shopping for the first time. What are the essentials that I should have in my kitchen?<br><br>(p.s I've already arranged for a slow cooker)<br><br>If it helps at all, I'm based in the UK and I'm currently vegan but I'm thinking of going non vegan come October.<br><br>Thank you very much for any help! xxx
