"I'll follow you home. Don't try to lose me on the way"

It was very late one night when I arrived at my car after a long, grueling shift at the restaurant I used to work at. I walked through the parking lot, which was dimly lit and empty, as the restaurant had closed hours ago. As I was 20 feet or so away from my car, I felt the sensation that someone was watching me. It's that common, eerie feeling, you've all had it. "Wow, this parking lot is so empty and creepy, I hope I don't get abducted," kind of feeling.

I turned around, and sure enough, there was a man standing at the other end of the parking lot, maybe 30 feet away from me. He was standing with his hands in his pockets, his head cocked slightly to one side in a very strange, psychotic manner. When our eyes made contact, he didn't move or react at all. He was at least 6'4, and very thin. He was wearing a long, black duster, but his face and head were obscured by the darkness of the night.

I immediately stopped in my tracks. Something was very wrong. I stopped because I was scared, and because my body locked up in fight or flight mode. I turned and stood still, processing what was happening. I was scared, so I decided to check my surroundings. I looked to my left, to my right, and behind me. There was no one else in sight. As my head turned back to look at the man, he took a right turn and began walking towards me. I froze again, unsure of what to do.

After a few seconds, I snapped back into reality. I turned and ran as fast as I could to my car. I fumbled to get the door unlocked and open, shaking with fear. I dove into my car and locked the door almost immediately after stepping inside. I turned and looked through my rearview mirror, and there he was walking towards me. I immediately turned the key in the ignition, turned on the lights, and slammed the car into reverse. I backed up, turned around, and put the car in drive.

He walked up to my car, his eyes boring into me with this unblinking stare, as I pulled away. I walked to the nearest street, which was a main road, and turned a corner. I looked in my rearview and saw him standing at the corner of the road I turned onto, watching me as I drove away.

Shaking with tears of fear in my eyes, I called my mom and told her what happened.

"Come straight home," she said.

I drove down the road for a minute before thinking to myself, "He's probably not going to follow me, I just have the fear of being abducted. I'll just see if he's following me." So I turned a corner, and peeked in my rearview. There he was, walking towards the corner I just turned onto.

Now, I didn't know what to do. Do I go home? The police station was right next to my house, so I figured that he wouldn't follow me there if he had ill intentions. I drove to the police station and parked in their parking lot. I called my mom and let her know that I had arrived at the police station.

I sat there, and waited. I looked in my rearview, and he didn't show. I waited for 5 minutes, and then I decided to get out of the car and go inside. I walked up to the door, before walking back to my car and getting in to make sure he wasn't following me. I looked in my rearview and he was walking down the sidewalk towards me. I honked the horn and slammed on the brakes.

He walked up to the car and put his hands on the glass of my driver side window. I screamed and honked the horn again. He smiled kind of and cocked his head to the side in that psychotic manner. He tapped on the glass twice with a long, bony finger, and walked inside the police station.

I drove straight to my mom's house, and burst through the door crying. I called the police to report what had happened. They said that no one had walked into the station matching my description.

I never saw him again.

But I will never forget the fear I felt, as I locked eyes with "the tall man with no face."
